Have you noticed the Pocket Letter craze taking over right now? This is like pen pals for scrapbookers, folks - decorating little cards, slipping them into trading card pockets, and sending them all over the world. I've created several so far, and this one was all about my love of stamping and a little about me:
I love how these give me more uses for my stamps, and check out that self-portrait on the right - I used Miranda Girl as a "portrait" of me. :)
I used my Spectrum Noirs to color her in, then fussy-cut her out and used removable adhesive to stick her down to the front of the pockets; that way you can still get at the goodies in the back.
I used a glitter pen for her nail polish, a metallic Wink of Stella for the bangle bracelets, and added Glossy Accents over the wine glass. Little add-ons make such a huge difference!

ReplyDeletethis is a fun idea. I just embellished a printer's tray for a friends birthday. this project reminds me of that idea. The selections are great and the lady is colored so nice.

When I was younger, I had 80+ pen pals and you would pick from "friendship books" that you handmade and sent to your pen pal; they'd sign it & end it to theirs. It was great! This is only the 2nd time I've seen this and I just love this idea! And you did a marvelous job, too. :-)

ReplyDeleteAhhh, penpals! I was such a penpal geek in my tweens! I still LOVE snail mail and though I don't officially have penpals, I do write and send lots of postcards and hand-made cards to friends and family. I look for any old excuse to mail something, I figure that if Happy mail never fails to brighten my day, it must likewise brighten theirs.

This one is my FAVE!!!!!!! I love the 'quilt' look. I think I made cards with inches for a month LOL I NEVER grow tired of them. I am going to steal your rectangle idea! That I don't think I have done!
