Sew Lovely Card and a Giveaway!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I never got the card I made yesterday for the Itty Bitty Challenge up on the blog and posted it right to the Facebook group instead. So I made extra sure to get today's up. Ready??

Buttons and fibers and markers, oh my!
I colored in my stamp with Distress Markers instead of ink pads, gave it a 'huff', then stamped away! I love how you can easily incorporate many different colors that way very easily. Since it's a sewing mannequin, I of course had to add in some twill ribbon with a sewing theme and some cute buttons threaded with twine. I really like how it came out!

Here's a look at the one I created for yesterday. Can you guess how many Itty Bitty stamps I used on it? :D

Love that wood grain embossing folder!
Still hanging in there for news about the giveaway? It's very simple; a fellow Out of the Box Sampler teammate of mine, Joie Joelle, is featuring my shop on her blog today! Head on over to learn more about me, my shop, and my design process then enter to win a lovely gift package.

An Itty Bitty a Day Keeps the Boredom Away!

Happy Monday everyone! I decided to take a break from listing new items for the store and play along with a new Unity Challenge we have going on via Facebook; using one Itty Bitty stamp a day all week long! Seeing as I have a crap-ton few Itty Bitty stamps, I'm ready to play along! Today I wound up inking up my little gobbler with some seriously cute results:

Gobble Gobble!
Isn't he adorable? Some simple stamping and watercolor pencil work was all it took, finished off with some Distress Ink on the white panel and card base and some orange and yellow washi tape!

Of course, I couldn't stop at just one...especially since I have the Mabee Farm craft show coming up at the end of August.

No two tails are the same!
It's true, I colored each tail differently as I still simply cannot make perfectly identical cards. Nope, can't do it.

Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with another fun card. Until then, Happy Crafting!

FWF Friday and a Coloring Contest Entry

Happy Friday everyone! It feels like I've been on the run all week and drooling over the pictures coming back from CHA. Instead of participating this time, Unity Stamp Co. stayed home and gave everyone a digi to play with for a coloring contest! Woo!

I, of course, immediately felt intimidated by all the beautiful creations popping up all over Facebook...sigh...but I pulled myself together and came up with this little lovely.

Flowers and butterflies...truly beautiful indeed
I printed out the flowers and sentiment on a transparency and then set to work coloring with a mix of Copics (as I still only own 6! LOL) and Distress Ink Markers. Using the ribbon, I then attached the lovely striped shimmer paper to it and mounted the whole pile onto espresso cardstock and a kraft card base.

Side view to see more of the layers and under-papers
For the sentiment I used a scrap of light blue patterned paper leftover from a wedding invitation order. I dug through my brad stash and found this sweet little butterfly that is obviously on its way to visit those flowers.

Closer view of the papers and coloring
I think it came out alright, though it's probably not going to get me the coveted guest Design Team spot. If only my printer could print on watercolor paper! Ah well, it was still fun and I enjoyed playing with the markers this way.

Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Crafting!

A Little Christmas in July, Part 2

You were probably all wondering why there was a "part 1" after my last post, right? That would be because I made THREE different Christmas/holiday cards this week! While I wasn't melting, that is...

Pink by Design is doing a Christmas in July challenge this week, which fit in with my holiday mood perfectly! I inked up a cute little tag set and added them to some layered holiday paper. A bit of ribbon and some Distress Inks and suddenly you have two CUTE cards.

Santa's Toy Store, every kid's dream
Closeup of the tag; stamped with Memento and made shabby with Distress Inks
Second card - sleigh rides!
Anyone else started their holiday crafting already?

A Little Christmas in July, Part 1

Happy Friday everyone! We're back from our vacations and settling back in to our routines...and doing laundry. LOTS of laundry. Browsing through all of the Christmas in July sales on Etsy, I found myself reaching for my holiday stamps. Of course, my craft room is approximately the temperature of lava thanks to our lovely heat wave this week, so I wanted something I could make before I melted clean and simple that I could add to our holiday line. And, of course, I wanted to play along with this week's Friends with Flair over at Unity Stamp Co.!
A little holiday peace

So, a bit of stamping, some embossing powder (that I almost didn't need a heat tool for, it's so blasted HOT) and we have a lovely holiday scene.
I can totally see making more of these
I love how the kraft paper is the perfect backdrop for some sparkle and shine. The glittery 'peace' is actually glitter embossing powder. All the loveliness of glitter without the mess! Huzzah!!

Hehe, a glimpse of my new shoes. How do I always get my feet in these shots?

I'm linking up to the FWF party. If I have you in the holiday mood, be sure to see what else I've cooked up in my Christmas in July section. Sale ends the 21st!

Happy Crafting!

Ahh summer...in our house that means time to head to the beach! Which, incidentally, is where I am now as you're reading this. Yes, I might be rubbing that in just a touch. It also means that our kitties get left home alone though I always think they have a mini-vacation themselves. Can you guess where this card is heading? ;)
Kitties at the beach!
Hey, I'm convinced it would happen. After all, there are yummy fishies to be had! Those cute little watercolor representations of my furry babies were made with the Cuddly Cats and Kitty Toys stamp sets, absolute must-haves for kitty lovers everywhere. The 'sand' was created with some Tim Holtz Distress Paper, the 'surf' features the Fiskars wave punch, and the 'sky' is from a My Mind's Eye paper pack. The handwriting is mine...try not to judge.
Jasper, Liam, Cassie, Rowan, and Lochlan
I miss my little ones, but I'll see them tonight with fresh catnip! I hope you enjoy my lovely little beach scene, now you're off to Emily's blog for some more summer fun!

Happy Crafting!

A Moment of Excitement

Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm still recovering from our cross-country trip (which you can see some highlights of on Instagram) but wanted to briefly share some of my excitement with you!

As you may or may not know, I sell many of my creations on Etsy and the big Christmas in July on Etsy sale is starting up on July 11th. While getting my shop ready for the sale (hint hint!) I noticed a HUGE spike in views last Friday. Being the oh-so-curious type, I started poking around as to why...and it turns out that Friday morning, my little chocolate brown chevron gift tags were featured on the Etsy Front Page!!!

I'm so excited! Way to go little tags!!!

Ok, back to setting up the sale...be sure to get your wishlists ready and check out our new Christmas/holiday line in the store!

Happy Crafting!
