So Suzy Stamps Design Team Challenge

Happy Leap Year! Suzy decided to have some fun at the expense of her Design Teams...welcome to the

Give us one extra day in the year and we go a bit crazy. You should be arriving from my BFF Terri's blog (of course, today she's the enemy, but hey, that's life). For the full Cage Match info, check out the main blog post over at So Suzy Stamps!

So in case you haven't been able to guess yet, I was given the Pretty Baby Bottle, Oops, and Pregnant stamps to work with. Pretty sure I've achieved new levels of snark with this one:

What, that's how it works, right? Totally how babies are made.

Some day I'll be able to photograph Wink of Stella, but in the meantime trust me when I say that the wine glasses are full of sparkly red wine. I stamped the baby bottle in the orange Hero Arts Ombre ink to jazz it up, then die cut my white panel with a fun border. Some pretty floral paper makes a lovely background to soften the blow of the inside...

...or, you know, not. I'm still slightly ashamed of myself, but do love how it came out.

All right, your next stop is Christine, another from the enemy camp! ROFL. I actually cannot wait to see what everyone was given to work with and created. You have until March 3rd to comment on our blogs for your chance to win and to vote for your favorite creation. Winner will be announced March 6th over on Suzy's blog.

Sending Rainbows and Love

Hey gang - I'm over on So Suzy Stamps today with a bright & cheerful card. We're talking rainbows!

Jennifer McGuire had a fabulous tutorial the other day on making a stamped rainbow panel, and I needed some color in my life. So with the help of my MISTI and a rainbow of colors, I made one myself.

Some white heat embossing and an embossing folder finished it off. So bright and cheerful!

Can't forget the inside (no, really, Suzy would yell at me...LOL)

Be sure to stop back tomorrow for a super-secret, fun challenge! Let's just say that two teams are throwing-down...hehehehe

Pocketful of Easter Eggs

Hey everyone - I'm dreaming of spring. Flowers and green grass and delicious chocolate eggs galore...yum...provided the cats don't get the Easter baskets again and think they're toys to chase around the house.

Obviously, I need to get them catnip eggs:

Hehehehehe...I couldn't resist playing along with the latest Newton's Nook Color Challenge. If I had catnip eggs in my back pocket, that's exactly where the cats would be! Especially Jasper.

Jasper-cat and the eggs were all colored with a mix of Copics and Spectrum Noirs, then the eggs were given a healthy dose of clear Wink of Stella followed by Glossy Accents.

The pocket die is another one I picked up from Die-Namites and the grass is from Lawn Fawn. Lots of dimension on this one; the gingham panel got popped with fun foam, then foam tape for the pocket and Jasper.

I should have drawn in claws - claws would so be involved here. LOL The square dies are both from My Favorite Things. I love adding some interest with the borders like that.

DieNamites and So Suzy Stamps Blog Hop Day 2

Good morning everyone, and welcome to my stop on Day 2 of our fabulous So Suzy Stamps & DieNamites Blog Hop! You should be arriving from Marina's blog. If you've simply wandered in because I'm awesome, you can see the full blog hop lineup here. Also, we're surprising Suzy today with a special Birthday Blog Hop as well - check it all out here!

Much like yesterday's card, I knew what stamp I wanted to use with the Flower Vases as soon as I saw it. However, today's card strays away from the sweet side of So Suzy and jumps right into the snark pit. So if you're sensitive about such things, just keep scrolling past the inside of the card, ok? Ok.

I die-cut watercolor paper and used my Distress Inks to color in the vases and flowers, resulting in such a soft look. A bit of Sea Glass ink through the Abstract Squares stencil set the perfect background for them.

I glued down most of the die-cut, but left some of the petals and leaves loose to add easy dimension. The I'm Sorry... sentiment was heat embossed onto some yellow patterned paper for a great pop of color.

And the inside...oh the inside...hehehehehehehe

I still love that saying! Just some mild snark for your Saturday morning. The Flower Doodle corner stamp I used is now retired (sob) but you can find some of its cousins here.

Now you're off to Henryka's blog to continue the hop. Be sure to swing by our surprise Birthday Hop for Suzy as well!

Of course, what's a hop without prizes?? Be sure to leave each designer some blog love both days for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Die-Namites or one to So Suzy Stamps. There are two prizes on the line!

Happy Birthday Suzy!

Yaaaay, it's party time!!! There was no possible way that we could let our leader's birthday go by unnoticed, so Justine took lead this year in kicking our butts into whipping up some serious fun for Suzy's birthday. WOOHOO!

Of course, YOU get the presents! Be sure to comment on each of our blogs AND wish Suzy a 'happy birthday' by February 22nd for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the So Suzy Stamps shop. Winner will be announced February 23rd on the So Suzy Stamps blog!

So I came across the Spellbinders die I picked up while shopping with Suzy and Momma Denise last summer again and knew I had to use it for Suzy's card. It was going to be awesome - whether it was going to be an awesome card or an awesomely hot mess was yet to be determined. LOL In the end it did turn out the way I wanted, but I can hear my dear Mary now telling me how loca I am for doing this...

...but it turned out AWESOME! A shaker card. With sprinkles. And by sprinkles I mean glitter, but it really does look like sprinkles, right? Just don't eat them.

And oh does it shake! Amazingly enough, it also does not leak the glitter...I was worried for a bit and might have held it over the garbage can just in case before I gave it a test shake. But behold the power of stick-it adhesive and five layers of cardstock!

To not detract from all the glitter, I added some Skittles for sprinkles to my favorite cupcake, which is currently part of the Retirement Sale and makes me very sad. It also means that it's 25% off and you have no good reason not to buy it.

I kept the inside a little more simply, but just as poignant:

Happy Birthday, Suzy! May your Coke be cold, the temperature be warm, and the cupcakes be fresh. Love ya!

Hop lineup:

Jennifer <<< you are here!

Be sure to check out our Blog Hop with the Die-Namites team as well!

Stamps used:
Happiness is...
Sprinkles
Medium Cupcake Swirl (retiring)
Ice Cream Sprinkles
Happy Birthday Fancy

DieNamites and So Suzy Stamps Blog Hop Day 1

Good morning everyone, and welcome to my stop on our fabulous So Suzy Stamps & DieNamites Blog Hop! You should be arriving from Marina's blog. If you've simply wandered in because I'm awesome, you can see the full blog hop lineup here.

The moment I saw the new Love Heart over in the Die-Namites I knew it was going to be a shaker card. It had been waaaay too long since I'd made one! I stayed away from pinks & reds though because, well, I was totally burnt out from Valentine's Day, and to show how you can totally use this die any time of year.

Have I mentioned lately that green is my favorite color? LOL Seriously though, I love how this came out! I actually used some of my metallic paper horde stash to die-cut the Love Heart, then filled my shaker pocket with some of the delicious Mint Julep Couture Mix sequins from The Ton. I never skimp on sequins filling - this baby SHAKES!

On the inside are two of my new favorite stamps from So Suzy's February release - You Make Me... and Giddy. I'm adoring these new build-a-sentiments, they're just so much fun!

To keep the green going, I stamped them with the Hero Arts Green Ombre ink pad with the help of my MISTI to keep them nice and straight.

Now you're off to Henryka's blog - see you tomorrow for Day 2!

Of course, what's a hop without prizes?? Be sure to leave each designer some blog love both days for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Die-Namites or one to So Suzy Stamps. There are two prizes on the line!

You Make Me...

Happy February! Is it just me or did January last about five years? Ugh! So nice to turn the calendar page and have a reason to work on lovey dovey cards with bright colors. Of course, I couldn't stop at just one while playing with three of the lovely new releases from So Suzy Stamps!

Watercolor hearts, anyone?

Ah, pretty colors and sequins...swoon! I adore how these came out, and love more that they don't have to be Valentine's Day cards. These are perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, or random Wednesdays as well.

I started with traditional V-day colors for this one, using Distress Inks in Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral, and Picked Raspberry.

I lifted Kristina Werner's tutorial on how to make lovely watercolor hearts and it worked like a dream.

Ink splatters with the same inks, then when it was all dry I pulled out my Misti to stamp the You Make Me and Giddy with black VersaFine ink. Since I used the rough side of the watercolor paper (because I loooove the texture) the Misti was a must so that I didn't muck it all up. A smattering of Pretty Pink Posh sequins in coordinating colors finished off the front.

The inside got some love, too - literally! We all know what a sucker I am for Suzy's scripty font stamps and this Love You is no different. I find it a fabulous alternative to stamping Happy Valentine's Day, as it leaves it open for the previously mentioned other occasions that way. Now if only husbands providing flowers worked the same way...sigh...

Card #2 got the exact same techniques, just with different colors!

Festive Berries, Squeezed Lemonade, Salty Ocean
