Coffee Cards with Deb and Celeste

Good morning everyone! I'm guesting over at Coffee Cards with Deb and Celeste this month, and as a surprise to our pal Terri we're featuring her new wreath stamp she designed for So Suzy Stamps.

Now, some people see a wreath and immediately think 'holiday'. Me, I wonder how I can use it to fit any season. Behold the autumn wreath! It was actually super easy to make; I popped the wreath into my Misti (so it would always stamp in the same spot) and first inked it up with Hero Arts Butter Bar ink. Then I added dabs of Just Rust and Red Royal ink to create a tri-color wreath.

The golden shimmer? Distress Stain in Tarnished Brass splattered onto the card front with a paintbrush. I filled in the berries with Dandelion Yellow Nuvo Drops and added shimmer berries with Golden Sunset Nuvo Glitter Drops. A little mustard twine from my stash and the 'Happiness is...' sentiment stamped in Hero Arts Cup o' Joe ink and the front was done.

Of course, I had to finish off the inside, too:

It may still be 80 degrees here, but there's nothing like warm cider in the fall. It was so easy to finish off the inside of the card with a smattering of leaves and more gold splatters.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to check out Deb and Celeste's creations, too!

Happy Caffeinated Stamping!

CASEing Kelly Blog Hop

Good morning everyone! Welcome to my stop on the CASEing Kelly Blog Hop! Are you having a fabulous day soaking in all the creativity? I know whenever I look at Kelly's blog I'm like a kid in a candy store, in awe of all the beautiful colors and unexpected pops of fun techniques around every corner. I always loved when it was Kelly's turn to post on the a2z Scrapbooking blog because I knew it was going to be something super cool and beautifully colored.

We have some fabulously generous sponsors for this hop as well, because hey, what's a hop without some fantabulous prizes?? Leave a comment by 11:59 pm EDT on Thursday, October 29th along each stop in the hop to increase your chances of winning a prize from one of our sponsors: a2z Scrapbooking, Altenew, Create a Smile Stamps, Dee's Artsy Impressions, DJ Kard Kreations, Hero Arts, Ink Road, Lia Stampz and Simon Says Stamp! Winners will be notified by email after October 29th.

Ok, on to the cards! Let me tell you, I spent hours pouring over Kelly's blog looking at card after card for inspiration. Then I discovered that she has a Pinterest board of her cards, so I lost a few days looking at those. What is it with Pinterest - every time I get on there, time seems to speed up around me and it's suddenly three days later by the time I'm done. In the end, these three beauties really spoke to me:

I just love the bold stripes here! The sailor knot twine is so fun, and the coloring soft yet eye-catching.

So much love here - the sequins, the rainbow, the unexpected pop of black, the random die cut pieces...yowza!

I love the CAS feel of this one, and the bravery to die cut such a beautifully colored flower! That's scary.

So, what did I come up with?

I went bold! The stripes from the first card were so cool, I knew I wanted to use those. The die cut sentiment from the third made for an easy way to incorporate a greeting without detracting from the bold stripes. You should have seen me sweating while I die cut that panel...yipes! I pulled the color palette and the sequins from the second card; black & white with pops of color. This card is so different than my norm, and I love it!

It needed a bit more shimmer than just the sequins, so I coated the flowers in Clear Wink of Stella for some added sparkle.

Time for you to keep hopping! Thank you so very much for stopping by my little caffeinated corner of the internet today. :)

Meticulosity's Blogiversary Party!

Good morning everyone! I'm partying with Deb over at Meticulosity today as she celebrates her one year blogiversary - yahoo! It's hard to believe that I've only known my Debbie Deb Deb for a year now - seems like my sister from another mother has been in my life much longer than that. You can find all of the party fun at Deb's blog: http://meticulosity.blogspot.com/

I have some blog candy to give away as well, but more about that in a moment. First, let's talk party hats!

Now it's a party! I went CAS with this fun card and my new Reverse Confetti party hat stamp & die cut set. I also gave my new Hero Arts Ombre purple ink pad a spin, and man is it fun. I'm still packing (ugh) so I decided to use what was on my desk; a pretty scrap of blue paper that I embossed, some lovely gray cardstock from Simon Says Stamp, and my absolute favorite metallic cardstock. That is how much I love you, Deb - I used metallic cardstock for you! LOL

I used foam tape on the party hat and the die cuts for added fun. It came together quickly and I love the results. Time to Party!

Speaking of party, how about winning that goodie bag? The joys of cleaning is finding extra supplies to giveaway, and I came across this 6x6 pad that's as vibrant as Deb's personality and a set of my favorite Hero Arts ink colors...including cup o' joe. :) Seeing as Deb and I are the coffee addicts of the group, it was only fitting.

US residents only this time due to cost of postage-sorry my international friends
For a chance to win, please leave a comment on my blog below telling me all about something that will distract me from the pains of moving. If you want to keep with the Deb & I theme, good topics are crafting, coffee, cats, beer, and online BFFs. ;) For extra entries, you can do the following (but be sure to come back and tell me about it in a separate comment!):

  • follow Deb's blog, Meticulosity
  • share this giveaway on social media
  • follow my blog (if you already do, that counts; just leave a comment, please)
  • send coffee

Ok, the last one is silly, but if you do that will be taken into consideration...LOL

Seeing as I'll be moving all weekend (yikes!) I'm giving  you until 11:59pm EST on Sunday, May 24th to enter. Winners will be contacted and announced on Tuesday, May 26th simply because I'll need a day to recover first. ;) Make sure when you leave your comments I have a way to contact you!

Time for me to get another cup of coffee - Happy Crafting!
