International Talk Like a Pirate Day...with Treasure!

Yarrrr mateys! The lovely wenches over at Mountain Plains Crafters have served up some grog-a-licious pirate cards and layouts ta tickle yer fancy...and some of dem have buried treasure on their blogs! Be sure to check out everyone's creations, including mine:

Ahoy there, matey!
A pirate ship sailing the open seas! This is a fun mix of Distress Inks and papers to pull this all together. The waves were made with Broken China, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Faded Jeans all layered onto watercolor paper. I wanted the texture and the stiffness when I tore it to get my white waves. The sunset/sunrise is a mix of Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade and Ripe Persimmon onto my favorite 100# white cardstock. Some Tombow super adhesive stuck the waves down to the sky after everything dried. I also added some Rock Candy Stickles to the white caps, but it so didn't photograph. Trust me when I say it adds some watery sparkle to the waves.

The pirate ship is from the Sweet Stamp Shop Ahoy! set and is too cool. I did a bit of coloring with my Spectrum Noir markers, added some Glossy Accents to the Jolly Roger and then just popped it up with some foam tape. The sentiment is from the same set and got a touch of color and Glossy Accents as well.

And like that, this ship set sail - yaaaarrrr!

Now then me hearties, interested in me treasure??

He Put a Ring on It

Hi there everyone! Just stopping by quickly to post a card for the Pretty Pink Posh Cutting Edge blog hop. The theme is die cuts this time and I really wanted to get my current work in progress done, but with my baby sister's wedding last weekend that did not happen. So I finished off one I'd started a while ago; can you tell I had wedding on the brain? ;)

I used the Lawn Fawn photo frame die to make the shaker card and tons of the Sweet Stamp Shop sentiments from multiple sets to create the background paper. Links to everything are below - are you liking the new linky tool??

The diamond was stamped on shimmer paper, then decked out with the white Wink of Stella pen and topped with Glossy Accents.

Pink, green, pale yellow, 4mm clear and silver heart PPP sequins were added in and this card was done.

Birthday kittens! The new die from Pretty Pink Posh is absolutely adorable and totally fit my idea of a photo booth shoot. I used the Sweet Stamp Shop kitty and colored her in several times to make these two friends playing with glasses, fake mustaches, and party hats.

So What Does that Fox Say?

I don't know about you, but I actually love the song "What Does the Fox Say?" If you somehow haven't heard it, just head over to YouTube and search for it...then watch everything else the group has made. Seriously. Just don't try to eat or drink coffee while you do unless your computer needs a coffee bath.

So, when I saw that the Sweet Stamp Shop had a fox stamp set mimicking the song, I may not have been able to hit 'add to cart' fast enough. I mean come on, look how adorable he is!!

What does that fox say??
I used the sentiments from the song to make a tone-on-tone background for my little fox to sit upon, then layered it with some shimmery bronze cardstock and a kraft card base. A bit of neutral twine from Pretty Pink Posh made the whole card feel very nature-y and perfect for a guy or a gal.
Hatee-hatee-hatee-ho!
I stamped the fox with Memento Black ink then colored him in with my Spectrum Noir markers. Speaking of, any interest in knowing what colors I use to color my images or a video? Let me know in the comments! When he was ready, I fussy-cut him out and used my trusty foam tape to pop him on the card. A bit of foxy translation by way of the speech bubble (and some more fussy-cutting and popping) and this card was done!

So, did you see the part where I said 'video'? Thanks to some new software I bought myself for Easter, our YouTube channel is coming soon! Please tell me in the comments what YOU would like to see; start to finish cards, coloring tutorials, funny cat videos...I'd love to hear!

You Had me at...Shaker Card, Baby!

Hi everyone! I couldn't resist making another sweet shaker card for the Pretty Pink Posh Shaker Card blog hop. Turns out I'm a bit addicted to going 'shake shake shake'...hehehe

I used a mix of Sweet Stamp Shop stamps, Lawn Fawn stamps, and Pretty Pink Posh goodies (of course) to make this sweet baby card. While no one I know is currently expecting, you never know!

A closer look at that sweet stork (I'm feeling a bit proud of how my coloring came out):
That chevron ribbon? Also available at Pretty Pink Posh!
Look at those sequins go! I used the Spring Mix with some silver hearts added in for fun.
Shake shake shake!
Thanks for stopping by. I've loved seeing all of those shaker cards!
