Saying Sorry with Stencils

Hiya - I'm over on the So Suzy Stamps blog today playing with my new Clarity Brushes and stencils.

Soooo easy to use. I created my ombre effect with Hero Arts Soft Vanilla, Simon Says Stamp Duckling, and Hero Arts Butter Bar. When I was happy with the effect, I used the Butter Bar again to stamp the I'm Sorry... sentiment from So Suzy.

Since I started with a piece of 6"x6" Neenah Solar White cardstock, the extra white space was bothering me. My solution was to use the straight edge from the Pretty Pink Post Stitched Borders 2 set to remove them and make a fun angled strip for the front of my card.

I made my card base from some textured navy scrapbook paper, cut down to 6x12 and scored to make a top-folding 6x6 card. Then the inside...oh the inside...

Geeze I love that stamp. Bahahahahahaha! I stamped it in Simon Says Stamp Soft Navy to pull in the card base color, then edged it with Blueprint Distress Stain and finished it off with some dots of Buttercup Liquid Pearl to tie in the yellow on the front.

Hard to believe that January is (finally) almost over. There is some crazy fun stuff coming in February, let me tell you...be sure to check out what's left on my Destash Page and subscribe to the blog so you don't miss any of the fun.

Sorry Not Sorry

Happy January everyone - and that means it's Snarkfest over at So Suzy Stamps! I'm up on the blog today with a card perfect for those sorry not sorry moments...mwahahahaha!

It was time for some tone-on-tone stamping, so I inked up a bunch of my favorite So Suzy florals with Hero Arts Just Rust ink and went to town on a piece of Simon Says Stamp Burnt Orange cardstock.

Once dry, I added a highlight to prep for my heat embossing with Hero Arts Unicorn Ink, the best white ink I've found to date. It's a pigment ink, so blast it with your heat tool or walk away for an hour or so and let it dry. Once dry, it was ready for me to heat emboss the I'm Sorry stamp with my favorite Ranger Liquid Platinum powder. Of course, I had to do the inside, too...hehehehehehe...

Seriously, I laugh every time I see this. I stamped the 5-Year Old sentiment with Versafine Black and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder so it didn't smear on me. Some Carved Pumpkin for the edges and another hint of the leaves in the corners all on Neenah Solar White cardstock. All done and ready for Snarkfest!

Stamps used: Sorry, 5-Year Old, Peony, Leaf 1, Line Leaf 2, Herb 1, Petal Flower 3

To the Beach!

Happy New Year! Who's ready for some fun in the sun? When planning this release, poor Suzy never knew that she'd have more snow than I did by now...ROFL

Ah, the beach...I've never tried surfing, but they sure seem useful for drying your bathing suits! Hehehehehe These are super fun to color and with a little masking I was able to stamp the surfboard a second time. I tell ya though, I am so looking forward to the Mirror Image Rubber so I can make a whole string of beach houses!

New stamps used: Surf Shack, Bathing Suit Line, Sandy Toes

I used a mix of Copics and Spectrum Noirs, then added accents with Glossy Accents, white gel pen, and clear Wink of Stella. Because who doesn't love polka dot bikinis and sparkly glitter suits?

This guy turned out big, so I made a 5x7 card base for it and used a woodgrain embossing folder on the white mat layers. The inside got some ivory linen cardstock and a couple oldie-but-goodie stamps: Starfish and Careful What You Wish For.

Colors Used (SN-Spectrum Noir, C-Copic):
Surf Shack - SN: IG1, IG2, BGR1, LG3, LG4, CT3, GG1
Sand - SN: EG1, EB4, GB2, TN1, TN2
Surf Boards and Bathing Suit Line - C: YR68, YR12, Y17/SN: TB5, TB6/C: R85/YG13/SN: DR6, CT4/TN7/C:YG21, G02, SN:BT6
