Today was Awesome and Giveaway Winners

Hi everyone! I'm blogging over at a2z Scrapbooking today sharing how I made this gorgeous kraft-white-gold card and how easy it is to mass produce them for all your thank you card needs this summer.

Challenge updates!

Ok, last but not least, thank you to all who stopped by during my Growing in Unity week last week. It was so wonderful to read all of your comments, hear your stories, and have some of you join my little blog family. Unity was one of the first stamp companies I ever really discovered and they'll always have a special place on my shelf. (stop sniffling, Suzy, your shelf is higher than theirs. OK?!?)

Now the fun part - I have winners to announce! Two commenters were drawn at random out of everyone that stopped by before midnight on Friday, June 26th to win a lovely grab bag of 25 Unity stamps. Winners, you have (2) weeks to contact me with your mailing address or I shall have to pick someone else. Just click the email icon over on the right to drop me a note before July 14th and tuck 'GIU stamp winner' in the title, ok? :)

And the winners are:

and

Congrats Paula and Kenneth! Hope to hear from you soon!

All right, I'll be back tomorrow with the So Suzy Stamps July release. It's going to be amazing!

Happy Crafting!

Day 5 of GIU - Hope

Good morning everyone, and welcome to Day 5 of my Growing in Unity week! I'm the Growing in Unity gal this week over on the Unity Stamp Co. blog, which means I'll be sharing a project created with my Unity stamps with you every day. I invite you to come back each day and leave a comment for a chance to be one of the (2) lucky people to win a bag of (25) Unity stamps! Woohoo! If you're new to my blog, I'd love it if you became a follower and join in the fun over on the Caffeinated Papercuts Facebook page or followed Caffeinated Papercuts on Instagram. :)

I cannot believe we're on Day 5 already - last post of my week! Get your comments in by midnight TONIGHT, June 26th and I'll be announcing the winners on Monday. Be sure to stop back and see if it's you!

Ok, before you guys grab the pitchforks and torches, this is not necessarily a Christmas card - really! I was thinking Arianna Girl could also be used as a sympathy card or for anyone stressing out and just needing some peace.

I kept her very CAS - white card base, embossed shimmer paper and the sentiment simply stamped in black before I ran it through my Big Kick. Arianna herself was colored with my Spectrum Noirs and the card was sandwiched like so - card base, fun foam, embossed piece, foam tape, Arianna. Loads of interest and dimension without the bulk.

Because the embossed piece is shimmery, I kept the little details simple; clear Wink of Stella to her wings and skirt overlay, and some Glossy Accents on the roses.

You are my Anchor - MPC and May Arts Giveaway

Good morning everyone! If you're looking for my Day 4 GIU post you can find it here - this is my second post today and it's a fun one. We have a new contest over at Mountain Plains Crafters and it's all about the ribbon!

We had so much fun with this challenge! Be sure to head on over to the MPC post to read all about our contest and see everyone's beautiful creations.

For my card, I actually started with the ribbon - this beautiful nautical pattern simply called out to me for this challenge. I then went searching through the Silhouette Store; I thought I wanted an anchor to stamp a sentiment on, but then I discovered a cut file that was even better!

I love how it turned out! I created the sentiment mat with some scrap wood-grain cardstock I had, then cut the words out of some Lawn Fawn paper. For the anchor, I even raided my metallic cardstock stash for a lovely coppery-red piece to bring out the red in the ribbon.

See the shimmer on the navy card base? I added some spray mist in Heirloom Gold to give it some interest and mimic splashes of salt water. I used Tombow Xtreme adhesive on the ribbon and the sentiment mat, then lots and lots of tiny pieces of foam tape for the sentiment and the anchor. It still needed a little something else, so I grabbed some 4mm clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and added them in for a bit of bling and visual interest. (Thanks for the idea, Paula!)

Feeling inspired? ;) We can't wait to see what you come up with for the contest! Trust me, you want this ribbon...you need this ribbon in your life!

Be sure to swing by the May Arts Ribbon Facebook page and thank them for sponsoring this challenge, and while you're there be sure you're following Mountain Plains Crafters, too! We love sharing fun projects and links on our page.

Day 4 of GIU - Something Wicked

Good morning everyone, and welcome to Day 4 of my Growing in Unity week! :)

Just to let you know, I am reading every last comment you guys are leaving me. Thank you for all of your kind words and stories! In order to not mess up the winner selection I simply cannot reply to each one hence my silence. I do hope each of you will stick around when the week is done - I love having you here! :) Welcome to all of my new followers and to answer the Pocket Letter question, you send the whole letter - 9 little 'cards' tucked into a trading card sleeve page. It is so much fun!

I am certainly still on my coloring kick, though today it's Halloween in June! I really wanted to use my fluorescent colors and Hazel's tights were just perfect for them. I made my own background again, but this time with a stencil and glossy transparent embossing paste.

FYI, it had been long enough since I used it last that I forgot how much this stuff smells. :/ This is only a trait of the transparent paste it seems, but phew! The results are pretty amazing, though.

Instant shine and texture...once it dries. I hate waiting for things to dry. Ah well, while I did I cut down some Smoke cardstock into a top-folding A2 card and stamped up a shimmery pink banner for Hazel's included sentiment. Fun foam under my texture piece once it was dry for even height, then adhesive for the banner and foam tape for my girl. The result is pretty darn cool:

This witch is ready to party! It's very hard to see in photos, but there's clear Wink of Stella on the heart, orange petticoat, and the eyes & mouth of the pumpkin. The embossing paste turned out wonderful on this card.

See all the layers? Soooo much more fun that way.
