a2z Scrapbooking Birthday Blog Hop Bash

Hello everyone, and welcome to a2z Scrapbooking Birthday Blog Hop Bash!!! You should be arriving from Greta's lovely blog. If this is your first stop you'll want to begin at the a2z Scrapbooking blog so you don't miss out on any of the fun and beautiful creations we are sharing today.

I love a good party, and what's a good party without balloons??

I started with lots of white cardstock. Lots. You'd never tell now, right? ;) So, the card base is a standard A2 top-folding card that I cut from a piece of 8.5"x11" paper. The remaining strip I then cut in half and trimmed a bit, giving me my 4"x5.25" card front that I added texture paste to with the Arrow Pattern stencil. The last piece I smooshed with my Hero Arts neon inks in Green, Orange and Yellow. I love these bright colors, especially popped against the white. When the ink was dry I die cut some balloons and then added the stars in black for contrast. Where did they come from? The versatile Hero Arts 'Thanks' stamp and cut set.

I love all the texture and layers! I die cut a banner for my 'Happy Birthday' sentiment from the Glow Girl stamp set, then heat embossed it with some gold embossing powder. I added some fun foam behind my card front for uniform support, then added on my balloons and sentiment with foam tape. I left the balloon strings loose for added fun!

Now your next stop will be Kelly's blog!
Be sure to leave a comment on every blog to be entered into the random drawing to win a $25 gift certificate to the store. You have until Sunday, April 26th at 11:59pm EST to leave your comments and the winner will be announced on the a2z Scrapbooking blog.

Happy hopping!

So Suzy Stamps Stupendous Birthday Blog Hop

Hey everyone - enjoying all the birthday fun?? You should be arriving from Jenny's fun blog, but if you just stumbled in be sure to head on over to the So Suzy Stamps page for the full list of events, bloggers, and confetti!

It turned out that I actually had a few of the very first stamps in my collection to choose from, so I grabbed two of my favorite sentiments - "Happiness is..." and "Sending you an instant hug".

I stamped Happiness is... on a piece of 4.25"x5.5" Neenah Solar White cardstock in that luscious gold Delicata ink and then die cut three butterflies out of the panel. For some texture I ran it through an embossing folder and then made light marks on an A2 card base showing where my butterflies were. I then added some washi tape to the card base thus "coloring in" my butterflies. Some adhesive to hold it down and the second sentiment stamped inside with a little confetti heart and this pretty card was done.

All right, now I'm sending you off to Kim's blog! Be sure to join in all the birthday festivities we have going on today (psssttt...there are prizes involved!)

    Clearsnap and Tombow Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Tombow USA and Clearsnap Blog Hop! For this hop we swapped products that were made for each other: Tombow Adhesives and Clearsnap Foils! On this hop we will share easy, affordable and fun ways to use Clearsnap's Designer Foils with Tombow adhesive as well as other fun ways Tombow and Clearsnap products work together. "Stick" with us for the next two days to be inspired!

    11146305_10153219326871322_2324917973491212760_n

You probably got here from Daniella’s blog, but if you simply stumbled across my wonderful blog head on over to the Tombow USA Blog to start!

I am digging the look of metallic foils on dark colored cardstock and am on a die cutting kick, so I decided to combine the two! I stamped my background floral image with watermark ink, then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder to give the foil something to stick to. Then I let my laminator get good and hot, laid a piece of Clearsnap Winter Sky Designer Foil over the top of it, and ran it through. I grabbed a word die and cut (3) words out of matching black cardstock and the last layer out of my foiled piece. To make it easier to inlay the words back in, I used my Tombow Mono Multi adhesive and Xtreme runner to add a scrap piece of cardstock to the back.

I used the Tombow Mono to make sure the little negative spaces of the die cut wouldn't peel up on me.

Time to start adding my word back in! I glued the (3) plain black layers together with dots of Tombow Mono, then added my foil piece on top. Once they were stacked I glued the whole pile to the foil piece and added my little negative space pieces back in.

Just look at the shine! It looks like we magically raised the word out of the paper - I love using this trick to add easy dimension to my cards. I grabbed my Xtreme runner (and used the last of my cartridge - eek!) and used that to adhere the foil panel to a standard A2 side-folding card base I created out of a deep teal cardstock. All done!

Did I mention there are prizes on this hop?

    You Make me Happy

Hey everyone - we've got a new challenge up over at Mountain Plains Crafters to create a card showing your appreciation for someone. But wait, there's more - then you actually have to mail it to them. Because who doesn't love happy mail??

I love poppies, so I just had to play with this gorgeous set by Altenew. I inked them up in Memento Tuxedo Black, Hero Arts Pale Tomato and Hero Arts Red Royal. The sentiment was stamped with Hero Arts Charcoal ink and the luscious Delicata Gold ink.

I do believe this is off to my Gram, whom I love dearly and who loves my cards. It's a win-win!

Be sure to link up your creations on Facebook to be entered into the giveaway, and happy crafting!

April Blog Hop with So Suzy Stamps

Hey everyone, welcome to my stop on the So Suzy Stamp's April Release hop! Are you loving all the fun birthday designs so far? You should have arrived from Steph's pretty blog. Remember, if you comment on every single blog post you'll be entered to win a $15 gift certificate to the store - no foolin'!

I actually wound up stumped for a bit on what to make for the hop...guess who doesn't have any So Suzy birthday stamps?? Silly, I know, but then I came across the Careful What you Wish For in my collection and went "ooooo"...LOL After all, who doesn't want their wishes (especially birthday wishes) to come true?

I decided to mimic a pretty card I saw on Kristina Werner's blog and made myself a circle mask to fill with flowers. I inked up the new Flower Doodle Corner and Flower Doodle Trio with a variety of springtime ink colors and went to town!

The outside edge was lacking definition I thought, so I grabbed a silver gel pen and drew in some faux stitching. Note to self; trace a circle to follow next time. A quick rounding of the bottom corners and this card was done.

Remember to leave comments on all the fun blog posts to be entered to win the gift certificate! Winner will be announced April 6th on the So Suzy Stamps blog.

All right, now you're off to my buddy Sharon's pretty blog. Happy hoppin'!
