GIU Day 4 A Girl and a Tag

Good morning everyone, and welcome to Day 4 of my Growing in Unity week! I'm the Growing in Unity gal this week over on the Unity Stamp Co. blog, which means I'll be sharing a project created with my Unity stamps with you every day. I invite you to come back each day and leave a comment for a chance to be one of the (2) lucky people to win a bag of (25) Unity stamps! Woohoo! If you're new to my blog, I'd love it if you became a follower and join in the fun over on the Caffeinated Papercuts Facebook page or followed Caffeinated Papercuts on Instagram. :)

All right, something different - a tag! With a girl! I'd say this is a brief flower break, but then I realized that I snuck them into the background...LOL

Now I'll be honest, the coloring isn't my fave, but I wanted to play with my colored pencils again after quite some time and Unity girls are perfect for coloring. I played with my crackle glaze, too, and that's just as much fun!

All this scene needs is a cup of coffee and it's all about me. Obviously she's on her way to get some...LOL

Thanks for stopping by today! Remember to leave a comment every day this week to better your chances of winning those stamps, and I'll see you tomorrow for Day 5.

Other news - the new So Suzy Stamps Design Team Challenge has begun. Go vote for your favorite card here and be entered to win (2) free stamps! Woohoo!

GIU Day 3 - Watercolor Because I Care

Good morning everyone, and welcome to Day 3 of my Growing in Unity week! Woohoo! I am still on my flower kick - who's up for some stamped watercolors?

These are FUN to make - grab two Distress Inks and your stamp. Start with the lighter ink and cover the roses, then come in with the darker ink to make the middles. Now spritz with water (make sure the spritzer is pointed away from your face...just saying...) and stamp onto watercolor paper. Look what you made!

Now continue stamping until you fill a sheet with roses. Or is that just me? When you finally run out of paper, trim them out and arranged artfully on cardstock stamped with the wood grain stamp, which is also super cool. Snip the leaves out separately to stretch your placement and help balance them back out.

Heat emboss your sentiment, then go to town with foam tape and gluing down the little leaves. It actually goes super fast. Add some sequins (because, sequins!) and you're done.

GIU Day 2 - Floral Thanks

Good morning everyone, and welcome to Day 2 of my Growing in Unity week! Woohoo! Spring is attempting to force its way into the Northeast, and I for one am all for it! My crocus are jumping, my daffodils and tulips are straining for sunlight, and I have a flat of pansies to plant. So needless to say, I have flowers on the brain!

Flower-ception! LOL Every so often I get the urge to make a shaped card - they're such a fun alternative to rectangles, even if it is hip to be a square. Ok, ok, I'm done...haven't finished my second cup of coffee yet. Be afraid...

This one was actually pretty simple - ink up the beautiful Samantha Walker stamp in three Distress Inks and stamp onto Neenah Solar White cardstock. I love the Distress Inks for this because they blend so easily and give you a pretty faux-watercolor look. The 'thank you' sentiment also comes with the set and I simply inked that up in a dark gray ink; bold enough to stand above the flowers, but not as harsh as black would be here.

Now start die-cutting! A 3.5" circle worked for my stamped image, then a 3.75" yellow circle and two 4" scalloped circles for the card base. Assemble, glue, and you have a card!

Of course, I couldn't stop there...glossy white Nuvo Crystal Drops for some subtle shine and texture in the middles of the flowers. Done!

I thought I'd kick things off with some calendars I made that fit perfectly on your desk. Complete with tear-off pages! :)

I thought the little house was so cute there, and easily stamped & fussy-cut. Switch out the ink colors for lots of different looks.

The poppies look pretty amazing, too! Best thing is, if you want to give them as a gift, they fit in an envelope!

Cup Full of Peeps

Hey everyone - just stopping in quick to share a card I finally finished for the Spring Coffee Lover's Blog Hop happening right now!

Except...there's no coffee on it. Or cats. Yes, it's possible I've been replaced by a pod person. But I do have PEEPS!

Peeps in a cup. Because what else would you do with them, eat them?!? Hah!

The sugary darlings are from the March 2016 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit and are encrusted with Ranger Rock Candy glitter. The cup is a die from Simon Says as well...I'd never used it...oops...LOL

No fussy cutting! The kit comes with matching dies, but I let my new Brother Scan 'n Cut do the work. So. amazing. Scor-tape is holding down those bunny Peeps quite nicely, and I used foam tape on the bottom of the cup so it fit snugly over all that sugar. I think I'm getting a cavity just looking at those bad boys...

Thanks for stopping by! If you're new here, feel free to click the 'follow' button so you know when I go on a caffeinated crafting binge...LOL

Leave Room in your Garden

Happy March! It's new release day over at So Suzy Stamps, and we are going to town with gardens and fairies galore. Even though there really hasn't been much of a winter up here, I am soooo ready for spring!

Yup, second half of that rainbow panel has landed in my garden. I'm not usually a fairy kind of gal, but this one was just so pretty. Reminded me of Suzy's fairy garden and I could see her dancing through my hydrangeas.

To make my garden, I pulled out one of my Hero Arts stencils and some flower sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. I love how my fairy is scattering color around to welcome spring.

Be sure to check out all the new stamps in the shop, and our Design Team Cage Match is still going strong. You have until March 3rd to enter!
