Princesses and a Wedding

Oh my, where did the fall go?? Between school starting again, Halloween, and craft show season starting all the days started blurring together around here. And, honestly, I was feeling rather burnt out. Ever hit that point where you want to create, but real life has you so exhausted you just can't drag yourself to your craft room? Yeah, that was my October. But that feeling is definitely passing now and I have a giant stack of pretty new stamps sitting on my desk begging to be used. Who am I to ignore them any longer?? LOL

Let's start with the wedding - friends of ours tied the knot and they deserved a special card. Of course, I had one idea in my head and my husband completly hated it...too formal/frooey for them, not enough natural/nature. Fine. FINE. (He was right, blast him. I hate it when he's right.)

So in the end, I still got to use the stamps I wanted but utterly changed up the color scheme:

I finally got to use the bride & groom from So Suzy Stamps and one of the newer sentiments (one of my personal favorites). I heat embossed them on a cream base with hot chocolate Nuvo embossing powder, then layered it onto woodgrain cardstock and the whole pile onto some pretty deep olive cardstock. And yes, it's a square card - the freedom of delivering it in person!

The inside got a little 'fancier' - leaf vellum paper, anyone? It is sooooo pretty, and perfect for layering inside of the card.

More of the cream and wood grain on the inside, with plenty of room for us to write our best wishes to them. Isn't the font on that Congratulations stamp awesome?? The wedding was just beautiful as well.

Now for the princesses...hehehe...I had the joy last weekend of attending a local scrapbooking retreat that happens twice a year. A full weekend of paper, friends, merriment...and themes! This crop the theme was Royalty and, being a team member, who was I to shirk my duty to dress up?

Friday night brought about this gem...hey, $30 on Amazon, people! Very see-thru, though, so you're welcome for the jeans and tank top...LOL

My friend Annette was, of course, the Queen of Hearts. I must have done ok as I got to keep my head.

While it was fun being Princess Leia (though, let me tell you, that hood is HOT to keep up all night!) Saturday was my favorite. And, even better, I shopped my closet & craft room to pull her together, AND only burned my thumb a dozen times curling my hair!

Can you guess who I was?

I'll come back and tell after you have some time to log your guesses in the comments. I will say it tickled me to no end that nearly everyone at the crop figured it out!

All right, I have a craft show to get ready for on Sunday - local peeps, check the sidebar for my schedule! And non-local peeps, take a peek at the new headers up at the top of the blog. I'm very proud to announce that my handmade shop is now part of my blog page! Wahoo! Huge shout-out to the techs at Shopify who got it working for me.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Fall 2016 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Good morning everyone, and welcome to my stop on the Coffee Lovers Bloghop! I'm so excited to be offering up a Flash Prize this hop and extra, super excited that it's one of my new mugs!

So anyone who's stopped by here before knows just how much I love coffee and crafting. Well, I finally took it to the next level and opened up my own shop on Facebook. There you will currently find handmade coasters, mugs, and coffee cozies with more goodies to come as I slowly get everything photographed and edited. Seriously, does anyone else groan at the thought of photo editing? So.tedious. I could be crafting! LOL

As fall has officially arrived, I simply had to celebrate my favorite part of it - PUMPKIN EVERYTHING!

Yes, I am that gal - give me pumpkin and fall is bearable. I might already be stockpiling pumpkin coffee and creamer...hey, it's a long winter!

I'd love it if you stopped by my new shop and left me some love (and, you know, stocked up for winter...LOL). The mug I'm giving away as a Flash Prize is the fun Make Stuff mug!

Is that what we crafters do or what?? All right, off to enjoy the hop! Oh, and if you do go shopping, how about a coupon code just for my fellow Coffee Lovers? Use code Coffee10 to take 10% off until the hop ends on September 30th.

Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Caffeinated Crafting!

Ahhh...coffee and heat embossing and polka dots. Divine! Of course, I couldn't stop at one color combination...oh no, I just had to see what blue and silver would look like.

And then I couldn't stop at just one. LOL The whole set is actually available in my Etsy shop that I'm finally starting to pay attention to again. A girl needs crafting money, after all!

Stamp sets used: Hug in a Mug, Polka Dot Background, Tea Party
Supplies: VersaMark ink, Simon Says Stamp silver and gold embossing powder, Hero Arts Tide Pool ink, Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue and Slate inks.

Coffee Loving Cardmakers May Guestie

Good morning, lovelies! I'm so excited to be guesting over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog today. I'm sharing several cards, old and new, over there but have one more for you right here.

It is finally feeling like summer around here, which means pretty green grass & plants (my favorite color) and iced coffee!

Yummy yum yum! I broke out some of my new toys to make up this summery card. The stamps are from Lil' Inkers Designs and are colored in with my Kuretake Zig Clean Color Brush markers.

The stencil is from So Suzy Stamps and I made my own ombre greens by mixing Ranger Glossy Embossing Paste with Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Inks. After it was all dry I cut my panel down with one of Lil' Inkers wonky stitched dies (which are crazy fun, by the way), popped my iced coffee on with some foam tape, and attached the whole panel with some Fun Foam for dimension.

Be sure to stop by the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog to see the rest of my caffeinated creations for today, and Happy Crafting!

Rainbow Tulip Garden

Happy May! We've had so many fun stamps released so far this year at So Suzy Stamps that we've decided to take a breather and revisit them all. I'll be playing with the March release again, full of pretty flowers and fun sentiments!

I'm enjoying the latest Online Card Class featuring vellum and acetate, so look what I came up with:

A rainbow tulip garden! The entire front panel of the card is vellum which I added a rainbow of dye inks to. Once it was dry(ish) I heat embossed the Tulip Background stamp in white over the top.

A little diecutting and more heat embossing got me the fun strip for the sentiment. I love how pretty the Fancy Happy Birthday looks in gold. There's a matching white strip on the back of the vellum to hide the adhesive.

I left the inside super simple - the Never Grow Up sentiment and Nuvo drops line up with the white cardstock strips so you can't see them when the card is closed.

We do have some new releases today - more Nuvo Drops and a new line of stencils! Woohoo!

Happy Crafting!

So Suzy Stamps Second Anniversary Bash

Welcome to the 2nd Anniversary of So Suzy Stamps Blog Hop! We are so excited to bring you some gorgeous projects featuring the Top 10 So Suzy Stamps of all time! Don’t forget to leave a comment on each blog to be entered into the many draws for prizes.

I have to tell you, I was both tickled and stumped when I was asked to use the Venetian Mask for the celebration; the mask is the very first So Suzy stamp I ever bought! I used her so much early on that I wanted to do something different for the hop...enter being stumped. What hadn't I done with it yet? Hello partial heat embossing and Nuvo Crystal Glitter Drops!

Thank you MISTI for letting me double-stamp with ease. After stamping the mask in teal, I then went back and added Versamark round the edges. (I mimicked a mask I found on Google; so pretty!) That was heat embossed in gold, then the layers began. Gold metallic and vellum to soften the teal card base, and the same carried thru inside.

I had to use the matching sentiment. I mean, hello! It is pretty wonderful after all.

Supplies used:

Venetian Mask

GIU Day 5 - Bold Blooms

This is my second post today - if you're looking for the So Suzy Stamps April Release post, go here!

Good morning everyone, and welcome to Day 5 of my Growing in Unity week! I'm the Growing in Unity gal this week over on the Unity Stamp Co. blog, which means I'll be sharing a project created with my Unity stamps with you every day. I invite you to come back each day and leave a comment for a chance to be one of the (2) lucky people to win a bag of (25) Unity stamps! Woohoo! If you're new to my blog, I'd love it if you became a follower and join in the fun over on the Caffeinated Papercuts Facebook page or followed Caffeinated Papercuts on Instagram. :)

I cannot believe we're on Day 5 already - last post of my week! Get your comments in by midnight EST TONIGHT, April 1st and I'll be announcing the winners next week. Be sure to stop back and see if it's you!

I went back to the flowers...I HAD to! Sadly I also had to use this card as a dear friend lost her mom recently, but this sure did bring a smile to her face.

I stamped the big bloom in Versafine black, then clear heat embossed it to make it fabulous. Don't be afraid to die cut away part of your image - the results can be so bold! A little black matting framed it nicely.

Poke around my site and you'll see just how much I love making my own backgrounds. The matching leaves stamped in a slightly darker ink than the paper makes for the perfect backdrop.

Thank you all so, so much for joining me this week and all of your kind comments. I know some of you are now followers and I'm so very happy to have you here! I hope you all keep in touch - I'm always up to inky, caffeinated trouble around here. ;)

So Suzy Stamps April Release

Happy April! It's release day over at So Suzy Stamps, but the joke was on the Design Team - we didn't get our stamps in time. Woops!

Enter me wheedling some digital stamps out of Suzy so I could still help out...and foil ALL THE THINGS!

No, really, I did:

Dear Scan 'n Cut - I puffy heart you. Thank you for cutting all of these out for me in about 5 minutes so I could go foil crazy. xoxo, me.

Now, because these are digital, they might be the wrong size. Don't hate, just look at the shinies. Shiiinnnyyyy....

Aw yeah. There's four new flowers in there coated with pretty, pretty foil. Some vellum and the Built from Fire sentiment (one of my faves) heat embossed with gold made the center, but then how to hide the vellum adhesive? Gold metallic paper frame to the rescue!

Don't forget, we have our March Design Team Challenge going on as well - voting is open until April 5th. Choose your favorite DT card here (coughMinecough) and be entered to win two stamps!

Stamps Used:
Built from Fire
Chrysanthemum Solid
Chrysanthemum Outline
Wispy Chrysanthemum Outline
Ranunculus Outline
Oh, and foil!

GIU Day 4 A Girl and a Tag

Good morning everyone, and welcome to Day 4 of my Growing in Unity week! :)

All right, something different - a tag! With a girl! I'd say this is a brief flower break, but then I realized that I snuck them into the background...LOL

Now I'll be honest, the coloring isn't my fave, but I wanted to play with my colored pencils again after quite some time and Unity girls are perfect for coloring. I played with my crackle glaze, too, and that's just as much fun!

All this scene needs is a cup of coffee and it's all about me. Obviously she's on her way to get some...LOL

Thanks for stopping by today! Remember to leave a comment every day this week to better your chances of winning those stamps, and I'll see you tomorrow for Day 5.

Other news - the new So Suzy Stamps Design Team Challenge has begun. Go vote for your favorite card here and be entered to win (2) free stamps! Woohoo!

GIU Day 3 - Watercolor Because I Care

Good morning everyone, and welcome to Day 3 of my Growing in Unity week! :)

I am still on my flower kick - who's up for some stamped watercolors?

These are FUN to make - grab two Distress Inks and your stamp. Start with the lighter ink and cover the roses, then come in with the darker ink to make the middles. Now spritz with water (make sure the spritzer is pointed away from your face...just saying...) and stamp onto watercolor paper. Look what you made!

Now continue stamping until you fill a sheet with roses. Or is that just me? When you finally run out of paper, trim them out and arranged artfully on cardstock stamped with the wood grain stamp, which is also super cool. Snip the leaves out separately to stretch your placement and help balance them back out.

Heat emboss your sentiment, then go to town with foam tape and gluing down the little leaves. It actually goes super fast. Add some sequins (because, sequins!) and you're done.

Thanks for stopping by today! Remember to leave a comment every day this week to better your chances of winning those stamps, and I'll see you tomorrow for Day 4.

Happy Crafting!
