So Suzy Stamps Design Team Challenge

Happy Leap Year! Suzy decided to have some fun at the expense of her Design Teams...welcome to the

Give us one extra day in the year and we go a bit crazy. You should be arriving from my BFF Terri's blog (of course, today she's the enemy, but hey, that's life). For the full Cage Match info, check out the main blog post over at So Suzy Stamps!

So in case you haven't been able to guess yet, I was given the Pretty Baby Bottle, Oops, and Pregnant stamps to work with. Pretty sure I've achieved new levels of snark with this one:

What, that's how it works, right? Totally how babies are made.

Some day I'll be able to photograph Wink of Stella, but in the meantime trust me when I say that the wine glasses are full of sparkly red wine. I stamped the baby bottle in the orange Hero Arts Ombre ink to jazz it up, then die cut my white panel with a fun border. Some pretty floral paper makes a lovely background to soften the blow of the inside...

...or, you know, not. I'm still slightly ashamed of myself, but do love how it came out.

All right, your next stop is Christine, another from the enemy camp! ROFL. I actually cannot wait to see what everyone was given to work with and created. You have until March 3rd to comment on our blogs for your chance to win and to vote for your favorite creation. Winner will be announced March 6th over on Suzy's blog.

Happy Crafting!

Coffee and Friends...Spring Coffee Lover's Blog Hop

Happy Friday everyone! I'm here with one last coffee card before the Spring Coffee Lover's blog hop closes down tonight. Anyone else dying for warm weather, flowers, and no snow??

Oh yes, I desperately want warm weather so I can break out the t-shirts, grab a good book (and tons of sunscreen) and go lounge in the sun!

Of course, meeting friends on patios for coffee is also fantastic. I colored my gal in with Spectrum Noir markers, then fussy-cut her out for layering. Chocolate (or is that coffee?) brown card base with some MME chevron papers, Pretty Pink Posh heart confetti and edge die, and the sentiment heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum powder.

A Treat for You

Happy Friday everyone! I'm back to sneak in one more card for the Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, and it's one that would work for any time of year:

Are you loving it? Because I love it. And now for the part that will have me committed; I stamped the plaid background myself. Yup, created it with my own two, inky hands. It's one of the background builder sets from Papertrey Ink and each color is a different stamp from the set. I had so much fun creating it!

The little glassine bag in the middle there? Yup, made that, too; it's a die from Memory Box and is sooooo easy! Since you really don't see it when filled and decorated, I just glued the bag together with some Tombow Mono Adhesive and then used my tape gun to stick it to the plaid paper. A little stamping and paper-piecing got me the coffee cup from Lawn Fawn and the heat embossed sentiment on the tag I cut. The little bow die from Mama Elephant made the perfect topper to my treat!

Oh I did say the bag was filled, didn't I?

It's a gift card holder. Yeah, that's totally why I bought it. The perfect way to give someone a pretty card and a sweet treat. Coffee anyone? ;)

Speaking of treats, I'm giving away some blog candy consisting of some pieces from the wonderful Prima Coffee Break collection! Enter away using Rafflecopter below:

MPC Giving Thanks Blog Hop!

Hello hello everyone! Welcome to my stop on the Mountain Plains Crafters Giving Thanks blog hop!

We're so thrilled to be sponsored by Tombow and Unity Stamp Co. this month, and boy do they have some fun products to play with. Tombow's Xtreme Adhesive may be my new favorite "I said stick and stay stuck, dagnabbit!" adhesive. Seriously; you do not mess with this stuff! Of course, I own several (dozen) Unity stamps, so it was just a matter of finding one for the project.

I admit, I was a bit stumped at first...a DIY that isn't a card? Hmmm...been a while...so I went to Pinterest to see what I had pinned for future inspiration. Five hours later I finally made it to my idea board (don't laugh; you know you've done it) and rediscovered a mini calendar idea I found a while ago. Perfect!

Sort of.

The directions were a little...lacking. The idea was there, but I was left engineering some steps myself. So here we go, the Caffeinated Papercuts way of creating these adorable stand-up calendars:
  • Start with a standard 4.25"x11" piece of cardstock.
  • Score at 5.5" to make a top-folding card
  • Cut a second piece of cardstock down to 4.25"x5"
  • Score at 1", 2.5" and 4" to create the interior 'stand'
  • Using the Tombow Xtreme adhesive, attach the interior stand to the top folding card, applying tape at the 1" and 4" folds

To create the calendar, I simply purchased a digital calendar file and scaled it down to 2.5" wide. I used my Tombow Aqua Liquid glue to create a tear-off calendar; make sure the pages are even, then clip them on both ends with binder clips. I then applied a healthy dose of the glue with my finger and let it dry. Pretty easy!

While that dried, I stamped my sunflower and colored it in with my Spectrum Noir markers. A little fussy cutting and some clear Wink of Stella on the petals finished it off.

To decorate the top, I pulled out some 6"x6" patterned paper from my ginormous stash and ran it through my Big Kick with the gorgeous border from the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders 2 set. A little Distress Ink to finish off the edges (Marmalade, I believe) and it's ready to go.

Assembly time! The scalloped border went on with foam adhesive, topped off with some Lawn Fawn twine. I attached my calendar pages with the Xtreme adhesive and the sunflower with more foam adhesive. Easy peasy! I've linked all the supplies I used after the giveaway. ;)

I'm the last stop for today, so head on back to the blog to see all of today's participants and get ready for round 2 tomorrow! Don't forget to enter our giveaway, winner will be announced 11/17 on the MPC blog:

Happy Halloween!

Boo! :D

I greatly enjoy Halloween; costumes. pumpkins, candy...fun times, my friends. Now if I could just find the house that gives out coffee...

cat in pumpkin card

I had so much fun coloring this little kitty in the pumpkin! I could also see one of our cats doing this, given the chance...I cannot find the name of this stamp set, though. Google has failed me! Noooo! If anyone knows what she's called, will you leave me a comment please?

I love the Halloween chevron paper, but the pattern is a little bold on its own. I used the Pretty Pink Posh stitched rectangle die to cut off a piece and a matching piece of vellum to soften it. To hide the glue marks on the vellum, I carefully added adhesive under the sequins stacks, the banner, and the kitty.

The kitty and her pumpkin were colored in with my Spectrum Noir markers, then popped onto the background with foam adhesive.

close up of pumpkin time banner

I stamped the Pumpkin Time! sentiment that came with the set in Memento Espresso Brown ink onto a scrap of this lovely ivory linen paper, then die-cut it with the Mama Elephant banner die. I really love that thing. Of course I HAD to add sequins, so for seasonal flair I stacked the 6mm tangerine and the 4mm onyx sequins from PPP in the corners, then added just some onyx ones to frame the sentiment. Done!

I'll be taking my little ninja turtle dinosaur rider trick or treating tonight (and collecting a candy tax). Be sure to stop by the Mountain Plains Crafters Facebook page all day today for fun Halloween treats!
