This Girl Runs on Coffee

Ahh summer...warm days, sunshine, and no school so the kid rolls out of bed at 6am because why not??

Yeah, pass the coffee. Make it a triple.

Thus was the thought of my massive coffee cup line up, pretty sure this is how many cups I'm going to need a day now that the munchkin is dragging me out of bed instead of me dragging him out of bed. And hey, the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is kicking off as well! Perfect timing.

I wanted to give a #10 card size a try, and a rainbow of coffee cups seemed like just the thing! I simply made up a couple of quick masks with some Post-its and stamped away. I know, it looks terrifying, but I think I had it stamped in 5 minutes. Then I was able to color away...which took more like 3 nights. #momlife, ya know?

The cup is from the Simon Says Stamp Coffee and Tea set which I adore, and the sentiment is from The Ton's Hug in a Mug set, which I also adore. Really, if it involves coffee, I likely adore it. The die is from Verve and cut out of gold foil.

Of course, can't forget the inside:

A good reminder for us all, right? LOL

All right, I'm off to refill my coffee cup. I have links to the products I used below and will hopefully be back with more coffee cards during the hop. Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Caffeinated Crafting!

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Happy Spring!

Well, according to the calendar at least...it's still below freezing with snow here. Blah. Thankfully the start of the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop means I have a reason to play with pretty spring colors, even if it's while I'm wearing a sweater and boots...LOL

New to the hop? You've stumbled across a very fun, very caffeinated group then my friend. Here's the nitty-gritty:

When: Friday, March 24 - Friday, March 31
Theme: Spring
Use: coffee, tea &/or cocoa images
Social Media tag: #spring2017clh
Main Coffee Lovers blog: http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/
Direct link to SPRING Hop Post: http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/2953
I'm offering up a Flash Prize of a $10 gift certificate to my shop. Because hey, who doesn't need a new coffee mug?

Ok, on to my card - I had so much fun mixing and matching stamp sets again, and using one of Mama Denise's upcoming Bunkie Bags as inspiration.

Look how happy that little spring coffee cup is! She's a mix of Copic coloring and paper piecing, then fussy-cut out and added to the finished card with foam tape. I even made note of the Copic colors I used for you:

This stamp and the sentiment are from the Simon Says Stamp Coffee & Tea card kit. The coffee beans are from my oldest stamp set from Fiskars. Those I stamped with Versamark onto natural linen card stock and heat embossed with the Nuvo Hot Chocolate embossing powder.

I then broke out the Big Kick and went to town die cutting my ivory panels, a scalloped circle out of vellum, and a teal circle for contrast (and so you could read the sentiment). The sentiment I heat embossed with the Ranger Silver Pearl embossing powder.  Then it was time to assemble; kona cardstock card base, ivory coffee bean panel, teal circle & vellum scallop (with the adhesive hidden behind the coffee cup) and the coffee cup added with foam tape.

Can't forget the inside! You were wondering why I die cut two ivory panels, weren't you?

More coffee beans and this sentiment is from the Fiskars set as well. And now I want another cup of coffee...LOL

Thanks for stopping by today! Up top is are the links to all of my shop categories; coffee cups, coasters, and cards, all handmade by yours truly. :) And just for you coffee lovers, I have a coupon code good now thru April 1st - use Spring17 to take 15% off your purchase. I have links to my card making supplies below as well.

Hug in a Mug

It's summer, and that means it's time for the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! I decided to get inky (and hot) with some of my goodies from The Ton Stamps.

Ahhh...coffee and heat embossing and polka dots. Divine! Of course, I couldn't stop at one color combination...oh no, I just had to see what blue and silver would look like.

And then I couldn't stop at just one. LOL The whole set is actually available in my Etsy shop that I'm finally starting to pay attention to again. A girl needs crafting money, after all!

Stamp sets used: Hug in a Mug, Polka Dot Background, Tea Party
Supplies: VersaMark ink, Simon Says Stamp silver and gold embossing powder, Hero Arts Tide Pool ink, Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue and Slate inks.

Thank you so much for stopping by today - Happy Caffeinated Crafting!

C is for Cat and Coffee and Coffee Lover's Summer Hop!

Woohoo - it's coffee hopping time again!! I'm joining in as I'm pretty sure with a blog name like Caffeinated Papercuts it would be illegal for me to not link up at least one project...LOL

We're having some gals leave the So Suzy Stamps Design Team, so Monica decided it would be fabulous to exchange ATCs - a little something to forever remember the very first DT by, ya know? Well crazy-busy moving, cat losing, cat finding, crafting out of boxes me finally got mine in the mail, and what better to remember me by than this:

Yup, I finally mailed them Jasper-cat! LOL

I started by running some Core'dinations paper through my awesome new Tim Holtz coffee embossing folder. Then I stamped out Jasper onto Neenah Solar White cardstock using my Espresso Truffle Memento ink as I was going to be coloring with my Spectrum Noir markers. While those dried a bit, I grabbed the set of coffee stamps that came with the Simon Says Stamp October 2014 card kit and a cute pad of 6x6 MME paper to stamp out my coffee cups and sayings. Then I got a little nervous and cut one of the kitties in half to nestle him behind the cup - it worked perfectly!

And yes, I am insane and fussy-cut all (10) kitties and mugs out myself. Oy. Good thing I love these gals! To color in the coffee I used the chocolate glitter Spica pen and then used foam tape to attach Jasper and his coffee to the ATC base. All done!

Be sure to hop along with the fantastic link up - there's prizes along the way and some fantastic super sponsors!

Supplies used:
Tim Holtz Core'dinations Distress Colorcore paper
Simon Says Clear Stamps What's Brewing?
My Favorite Things I Knead You clear stamps
Tim Holtz Sizzix On the Go Coffee embossing folder
Memento Espresso Truffle ink pad
Spectrum Noir markers
Copic Twinkling Stars Chocolate Marker Glitter Pen Spica
MME 6x6 Paper Pad (cannot remember which one!)

Happy Crafting!

Friendship Has Its Perks + A Video!

Good morning everyone! Got some coffee next to you? After all, it's National Coffee Day and Chaitali over at Cuts, Crops & Creativity is co-hosting an amazing Coffee Lovers Bloghop!

Seeing as I love coffee (seriously folks, have you SEEN the name of my blog?) I naturally leaped into this feet first, coffee cup in hand. In fact, I was so buzzed on caffeine I thought this would be the perfect occasion to film a start-to-finish card video. Mistakes were made, laughter was heard, and I still can't tell if the video is any good or if anyone will even watch the thing, but I did it!

You can watch it below or follow the link to my new YouTube channel. If you thought it was at least good for a laugh, I'd love it if you subscribed. Now that I have one under my belt, there are definitely more to follow!

Things I've learned:
-my table moves every time I touch it. Every. Time.
-when you zoom in to show a feature, remember to zoom back out.
-filming on the vertical is rough; that's how I lost some of the bottom half of the screen. Sigh.
-in the end, it was fun and I'd do it again.

As I mentioned in the video, I used the new Simon Says Stamp October card kit featuring the most fantastic coffee die and stamp set. I'm in love; my caffeine-filled heart went pitter-patter at the sight of it. The technique is on I saw on Jennifer McGuire's blog a while back (oh to film videos like her!) and it was so much fun.

Here's a better look at the final cards:

Virginia Lu offered up some fun coffee-related questions for the participants, and I just had to play along. I started drinking coffee on a regular basis when I was a junior in high school; tons of homework late into the night meant a morning mug of coffee while I waited for the bus was heaven. My favorite brands (I am SUCH a snob) are Green Mountain, Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks lattes. Not the Starbucks coffee, though, as I always think it tastes burnt. Oh, and if I don't drink my needed coffee, I will get lack-of-caffeine headaches, become ridiculously cranky and sometimes verbally assault people. There's a reason I have a sign in my house that reads "I drink coffee for your protection". Yes I'm addicted; what's your point? The world is a better place because of it...LOL

Now, I'd love to know - are you looking forward to more videos? What would you really like to see? And, of course, what's in your coffee cup??

Supplies - Simon Says Stamp October Card kit (stamps & die), Paperandmore.com 100# white cardstock, Simon Says Stamp Slate ink, Hero Arts White embossing powder, Distress Embossing Ink, 3M Foam Tape, Mama Elephant Bold Banner die, miscellaneous patterned papers, Wink of Stella Clear pen, Pretty Pink Posh 4mm Clear & Bronze sequins, Uhu Glue Stick.
